Introduction

Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital which is one of the most renowned eye Hospitals in Pakistan, its office is situated in Rawalpindi but operates all over the Country.

Manager’s Intro

The HR Manager of Al-Shifa is Mr. Mubashir Mehmood. He has an MBA in HRM and has a total experience of 9 Years. (6 Years in Al-Shifa and 3 Years in USAID). He at first gave us a small layout of the basic job of HR in Al-Shifa,

Department Description

HRM deals with all basic purposes like Job description, Recruitment, Salary management, Employee welfare, training and development, Employee attendance, Career Planning etc. According to Mr. Mubashir Mehmood while hiring they would focus on the attitude and skill of an individual rather than his Qualification in Administrative and Office Jobs.

They have installed Biometric system in the Building to monitor attendance of their employees, they further on monitor the employee’s performance and promote and pay him accordingly.

If they would find that a certain department of staff needs to be more efficient, they arrange workshops for the staff. They also coordinate the pick and drop route for the doctors and senior staff members.

Importance of HR in organization

Emphasizing on importance of HR department he said that unlike the past, Organizations have grown competitive and it has become hard to keep track of employee performance. In companies with no HR employees are not properly monitored and hence lose their efficiency, it is their job initiate training need assessments, Workshops etc.

Al-Shifa doesn’t have any intentions to compete with any other organization as it is completely based on Charitable funds. They do what they do for the betterment of humanity, but at the same time the HR keeps track that the employees working have the same training and experience the top eye hospitals in the country have.

Pricing Strategy

Al-Shifa is purely a charitable trust and is totally Non-Profit the clients are of completely 3 categories:

  • Subsidize (Half Charge)
  • Free (No Charge)
  • Private (Full Charge)

Answer: According to him HR matters a lot in as it manages most of the important activities that are carried out in an organization, the effectiveness of those activities relies on the efficiency of the HR department, hence the growth of the overall organization.
